High Ad requests not converting into higher ad impressions in Unity Ads

Hi all,
I have a game on google play. The game is starting to see some traction with daily downloads above 1000 on google play with US being the largest market for new downloads. However i am experiencing issues in translating these higher downloads into Unity ad impressions. During the last 30 days despite generating 4163 ad requests (4163 ad available), ads started (impressions) were very low at 115. I am unable to understand this phenomenon (actual screen shot below of unity stats report).
I am also unable to understand the format of unity stats report. What is source zone column and why is it empty for certain rows. Moreover whenever source zone says “video” ad request field is 0. This phenomenon is consistent across my other games as well. Someone please help @rasmus-unity @unity-nikkolai @HeikkiTunkelo

Hi @Jehanzab-Zubair :slight_smile:

It can be very confusing, because of this we have an explanation of each term here.

Basically, ad requests are the number of times that a request is sent via the SDK, the number of ads available is the number of times a positive response was achieved from a request.

The number of views started is the number of times your users have started to watch an ad. The number of views is the number of times your users have completed an ad.

I hope this helps :slight_smile:

Hi ClaireO,

Many thanks for the reply. Greatly appreciated. and yes the link you have shared is very helpful.

The concept that i am not able to grasp properly is what happens between ad available and ads started.

So in my case if i am getting 4163 ad available but only 115 ads started what is the reason. Is this a game design issue or lack of properly unity ads integration. One reason could be poor network connectivity preventing ads from loading, however for this reason i choose to show US in my example since network connectivity would be less of an issue there.

@Jehanzab-Zubair

Essentially it means this: the system gives 4163 ads available to watch at that time, but your users are only watching around 3% of the available ads.

This could be because of your integration design, or it could be because of a low DAU figure.
