As a new user I am very impressed with Unity, however I am in need of high quality low poly trees. I have downloaded the terrain assets package and the trees that are there are great but I need a wider selection. I have looked in the Wiki and online but haven’t come up with too much in the way of high quality trees such as the ones in the terrain assets package.
If anyone has any for sale or know where I might locate some I would appreciate the help.
Thanks for the link. I have used Xfrog extensively for high quality trees but the models typically have 50,000 + polygons. They have a product XFROGMLOD but it is beyond my level of expertise.
Thanks for the info. I have used several tree generation programs including TreeMagik and have purchased some loy poly trees but they all import into Unity as two meshes (one for the leaves and one for the trunk) and the terrain engine won’t recognize the tree. They work fine as individual objects but I would like to use them in the terrain engine.
Is there a way to combine the meshes so that both the leaf and trunk materials are both avialable?
You should be able to combine the meshes to make 1 mesh with 2 materials in a 3D app. I use Cinema 4D for this, but I’m guessing most apps will do it. Blender is free and someone here will be able to show you how to do it with that I am sure.
Cheers
