Hither: Earth - Mobile Defense Game

Hither: Earth
A tower defense like game that provides faster paced game play with powerful magic. Choose wisely as you spend your limited mana on either spells or your towers. Comes with a story mode and arcade mode.

I’m getting pretty close to finishing my game and could use any feedback I could get :). Let me know what you guys think!

Here’s the Web Player: Try The Game!

Updated 3-10-2012:
Updated Textures.
Added Skip Button for cut scenes.
Balancing.
Miscellaneous Fixes.

Pretty neat, but I have a couple thoughts:

One of your water textures doesn’t tile and it’s very noticeable.

Level 2 gets pretty boring at the end because it’s possible to max your crystals out before the end of the wave. Then you’re just sitting there. Waiting.

We should have the option for skipping already seen cut scenes.

As a tower defense fan, I have to say “we” (I’m broadly speaking for all of us) like numbers. Damage, attack speed, range, etc.

If your targeted platform is mobile have you tested it on a phone yet? I’m concerned about seeing the crystals attacks on such a small screen–i can barely see them in the player.

Yeah for some reason once I switched to my project to web the water texture suddenly doesn’t tile well. Looks fine on my android build though.

I was worried the first two levels might be to slow. I’ll try combining them and see if that makes it a little less boring.

I’ll see if I can implement a cut scene skip. Most of them are pretty short so didn’t think it was to big a deal.

I was trying to get away from the numbers, ranges and stuff like that to make it less of about the numbers and more about using the best ability you think to take on the enemy. Also I’m trying to take some of the focus away from the towers (some levels may even have no towers) and bring more focus to using specfic spells. If I get enough demand for it I might just make the numbers and stats a toggable option.

The crystal attack actually get larger the more you charge the crystal, but it start out too small it sounds like. I increased the initial size so you can see it at the first level even if your zoomed out now.

Just curious did you get to the later levels? I don’t think the game picks up really in till around level 5. One reason I want to try and shorten the tutorial levels.

Thanks for the feedback!

Try failing the third level 4 or 5 times in a row on hard and see if they’re still too short =)

I figured it was more to aim towards a more casual base.

Good to hear, I like seeing improvements in upgraded components.

I did not, actually.

Here’s a video of the game in-action. Updated the web player with the ability to select an enemy to do damage to them.

Updated Graphics and did some balance changes. New Webplayer updated and added new video to post.

Very good, looking forward to watching it progress

its really a very informative and in which shows the earth.in this game there is a lot of thing which are happen in a earth are shown in this game and also show the atmosphere of the earth.and it creates a big atmosphere while using a game.thanks for sharing this link with us of the you tube.

I really like this game. Though, I have a question. Are you supposed to get 1 skill point every time you level up? If not, then everything is fine. But if so, then I’m currently level 4 and have only been granted 2 skill points, which i have spent. Level 2 mana, 1 evocate, 1 ice, 2 fire.

anyone else first misread the title as Hitler:Earth?
