First one happened in Hong Kong, BTW.
No, pirates don’t go through iTunes. They aren’t in the system at all; they download .ipa files from pirate sites.

Are you sure they’re upgrades and not promo code uses?

I’m using AppViz to track sales.
Promo codes show up as a ‘Sale’ with no revenue listed.
Upgrades appear to be something different.
I started seeing this with our latest game too. I’m guessing apple changed something with the reports (never seen it before).
My best guess is “reinstalls”? But I could very well be wrong.
I believe that those are indeed reinstalls.
