A place where people could just talk about anything. Doesn’t have to be about tech, Unity, scripting, or stuff like that. Post can not count in the forum, so there would be no worthless threads just to raise postcount…

There are other forums designed for that. This, is a developer forum. If you just want to hang out and screw around go elsewhere.
… or go to the chatroom. Seriously, you can pretty much talk about whatever and people will respond to you if they are interested. That’s pretty much the Unity Community general discussion.

i don’t agree with this,my own experience and one of my reason to move from other engine forum is it’s going to break community unity with religion/country/races/politic/philosophy vs religion/country/races/politic/philosophy ,it’s not constructive rather than destruction for a community.And it’s totally nonsense and apart from unity name/reason/meaning,it’s not let’s differentiate people community.
No offence, but terrible grammar and word placement make it hard to understand what you’re trying to say. I think I got the gist of it though. You’re trying to say if we did this, then it will divide us as a community by religion/country/race/political views/philosophy?
I see what you’re trying to say, and you may be right, but Moonman does sort of have a point. However everyone else is also right; this is a developer forum, not a lounge. This sort of talk is probably more suited for a chat room. Just my two cents.

The community there is mostly made up of adults. So it’s a little different than most other game related communities.

Anyhow, there are a few examples from forums with WAYYY better status then ours. Like, Dream.In.Code. They have pros there and they still have a whole section for talking off-topic.
Dream in code is a broad programmer forum, that covers many different topics. This is the Unity developer forum. It is about Unity, that is what its for. If Unity didn’t exist, this forum would not exist.
This forum is not competing with other forums for “Status”, it is simply here to accompany unity. But here is a thought, if you want to use an off-topic message board so bad than go use Dream in code’s.
Or… since he is here (Unit forum) and wants to let us all chat with each other… USE Unity to CREATE a 3D Caffeine Lounge that people can log into and chat with each other…

Yeah folks, we’re not going to have anything more “catch-all” than Gossip is already. As was noted a few times by folks above, these are the Unity forums so let’s keep to topics related to Unity and game development. If you want to debate/discuss other topics then there are ever so many places that already allow you to do that, use 'em. Thanks!
I wrote that when i was didn’t have a sleep lol,i am not a native speaker and haven’t speak or write english for a while,i cann’t mention the exact name of my mentioned engine forum,i don’t like to discredits other engine,in that forum you can see from atheist,religion,funny videos,religion,bla bla chat,it’s all completely pointless for a game engine forum,it’s good for rational logical folks and for those who have touchy feeling one it’s going to broke up the unity of the community.
I am not touchy myself,i am a rational(ENTP) which not so many based on statistic(MBTI).

I’ve been incredibly busy with UT work off the forums, then I spent the last week+ seriously ill, enough to require a night in the hospital (really really bad strep throat). I’m working 1/2-time this week still under doc’s orders and after that hopefully I’m back at full throttle.
