On the sides as you can see, the shading is more prominent at the top despite the light source being above. I am guessing another reason for this is the light is not bouncing from the ground as light normally does.
On this model, I have the diffuse and normal map.
What things can i do to correct this?
EDIT: Rewording
Ok, to reword it. The bricks on the side of the cube have a bottom highlight while having a very aggressive shading at the top of the brick. The problem I have is the gradient between the highlight and shading of the brick (not the cube) is very aggressive. In addition, the general shading of the side of the cube does not translate very well to the top of the cube.
Also, if you look at the sphere, the problem is very prominent. The middle of the sphere (red) has a very inverted shading on each of the bricks. Looking further down, the bricks are virtually pure black, which does not happen in real life. The bricks should be slightly visible even with poor lighting due to light bounce from the below ground.
