How can i export the point data from SpeedTree for use in 3ds max?

Having lots of trouble getting to work. I export alembic but the data is messy when imported to 3ds max and i cannot see any point data at all. it appears in blender but not max, so it is there

Hi @jimsons,

SpeedTree does not provide a way to create point clouds, but we give you tools to make a point cloud if you extract it yourself. You can get the orientation from the .xml raw file or you can use leaf references.
The .xml can tell you where each leaf is anchored as well.

Depending on your situation, you might want to try switching the leaf references to transforms for alembic.

Feel free to add any additional detail and screenshots to explain what your objective is, and we can try to help further.

I hope this helps!
