How can I make it so that the character is not flipped the wrong way if i am facing left in the vehicle and jump out?

I’m making a 2D platform game with vehicles. I’m coding in c#. The character transform becomes a child of the vehicle transform and the character movement is disabled when driving so the vehicles movement script can be used. When the character drives right and exits the vehicle everything is okay. When the character drives left and exits the vehicle he moves correctly but is facing the wrong way. The facing right bool shows that the character is moving correctly but the sprite is facing the wrong direction. How can I correct this?

Yes that is true. How can I make it that the character is not flipped backwards though?
