How can I run unity3d on a linux or bsd machine please?

Unity3d stopped working in WINE from 3.4.2 and onward. Ironically, as Unity pushes for more support for Linux publishing, the Editor works less and less on Linux. With Unity 4, it can’t even initialize the license system in WINE.

Unity, hear my plea! At least let Unity work in WINE!

Unity Technologies do not provide the Unity Editor for Linux.

The editor can be run on Linux using Wine. See the community set up wiki page - http://wiki.unity3d.com/index.php/Running_Unity_on_Linux_through_Wine
