So I just started modeling with Maya yesterday, and just got Blender about an hour ago, and am learning with these, etc… A question in which I have no idea how people do that, came to my head. How do people make the reticles in their scope? Either a light-sourced one like an EOTECH or how sniper scopes is just lines. I know that you would just model the outside (and inside) of the scopes, but what about the shiny dot in the middle of the scope? I’m not asking how to do it (unless you want to tell me word for word, which I doubt ;)) I’m just wondering if there are names of methods that they do/use to achieve this, so please don’t tell me “it’s just experience” because I just want to know how they do this, and then I will learn the rest on my own. I have not found ONE tutorial on Google or Youtube. Thanks!
Someone please?
You would basically on scope face scale inward slightly then push the face into the scope close to the other end of the scope. The inside face would be texture with a alpha channel texture with a cross hair so you can see through it.
Does this apply to sniper scopes as well?
