How do I access particle system external forces multiplier from code?

I can set the external forces multiplier in the inspector, but I want to change it from my script if certain conditions are met. I know that I could just duplicate the particle system, change the external forces multiplier in the inspector, and then switch the systems dynamically, but that seems a little silly.
