How do I animate a UI element OnEnable/OnDisable?

I am super new to the animation and Unity 4.6 UI system. I have states that represent the OnEnable and OnDisable sequences. I “get” this much of the animation system. I don’t want the animation to repeat over and over, or transition between states automatically. I want one sequence to play on discrete actions (OnEnable/OnDisable).

I’ve watched the new 4.6 videos on animation (I’ve gotten this far).

My current issues are how do I stop animating after “AlertFadeIn” has played?
