How do i check the z position of tiles placed on the grid for Isometric tilemaps?

So i just started trying the isometric tilemap. I managed to figure out you can make things appear just above/below using z-position in the tile palette settings (as in the picture) provided the correct transparency sort is being used. My question is. How do I check the z-position setting for a tile that I have placed on the grid of the scene? The editor also seems to allow a tile to be drawn on the same tile if the z position is different… How does this work?

Do i simply have to remember/deduce the z value that was used just by looking at how it appears in the scene?
