How do I clear a local variable?

I've got a function with a local variable. As a matter of convenience, I would like to re-use the name of a local variable in two `if` statements. Is there a way to clear the name of a variable at the end of the `if` statement so I can use it again in another?

I believe this will do what you require:

float angle = 30;
// some code using angle
angle = 60;
// some code using angle

Although, this code could be better written as:

{
    float angle = 30;
    // some code using angle
}
{
    float angle = 60;
    // some code using angle
}

By scoping the variable it makes it clear that the two are different. Alternatively you could use two separate variables with more descriptive names.
