So I bought the Oculus Link cable too be able to “live” test my game by pressing the play button and putting the headset on, instead of building the whole thing for Android.
I’m using version 2019.4.8f1.
I have a working VR project which I can load to my Quest and it runs fine.
None of them resulted in the desired result.
The Quest gets detected fine by my PC and I can see the Link menu instead of the Quest menu.
I always get stuck at the point they add the Oculus Loader in the XR Plugin management. I don’t know why, but that is not an option I see when i have that tab open, see picture below:
In both the windows and android tab I have Oculus checked, and here are the settings I see:
These are the packages I use:
I have been trying to get it too work for 2 days now, and maybe you’ve guessed it already, but i’m a total beginner in Unity. If anyone could please help me with this it would be greatly appreciated!
Hello dear reader, I see I forgot too update the images: you can see MockHMD under the XR plug-in management tab, but I removed it while writing the post. This can be ignored.
Note that the guy in the video is utsing 2019.3. The “plugin loader” thing isn’t there anymore. your options seem to be correct. what exactly is occurring when you use the headset? are you actively in Oculus link mode when you try to enter play mode?
I’ve had success using Oculus Link with 2019.4, using PC + legacy VR and PC + Oculus XR plugin. Platform set to PC. Basically, I just treat it as if I’m building a normal Oculus Rift (or SteamVR?) game, and it works!
