How do i make unity hub request access to its own folder on mac?

I am trying to download unity editor from unity hub on my mac but it says it cannot install because it doesn’t have access to the folder “Applications/Unity/Hub/Editor”. i tried going to settings but i didn’t get the option to give it access. how do i force it to create a dialogue asking for permission to access the folder?

Can’t promise we’re on the same version of Mac OS but, for me, I had to give authorisation for Unity and Unity Hub to access certain folders. Interestingly, it didn’t include the Applications folder, although a general install may be enough for that. Here’s the Privacy section of my System Preferences, in case it helps.
