How do I play 2 different animations on the same 2D sprite simultaniously?

I’ve seen a lot of iterations of my question, but none of them are relevant to what I’m asking.

As a simple example, lets say I have a sprite, and I make an animation making it spin, and another that makes it flash.

I want to trigger these animations separately, but have them play over one another.I.e if it’s already spinng and I trigger the flash then it starts the flash animation without interupting the spin.
Since the two animations would not interfere with one another I would assume they can work together.

I tried using additive layers but only the base layer seemed to affect the sprite.

You could use Timeline and place the overlapping Animations on several tracks. Just ensure that the same parameter is not affected by 2 animations at the same time.
