How do I turn off rigid body when it is hit with a certain force?

I want my character to be able to pick up a rigid body and when they slam the object onto the ground it will remove rigid body. But when hit it harder the rigid body activates again. Like a placing down type of deal. If you guys/ gals could help that would be amazing!

If you want to disable the rigidbody without removing it, the best option is probably Rigidbody.Sleep().
You can then activate it again with Rigidbody.Wakeup().
