Just have a quick question with regards to working with assets.
If I was to work on a project with someone else and they have assets at their disposal
that they have paid for such as 2DTK or SmoothMoves for example, how is this handled?
Will the features not work when I open the project file? and presumably, the assets will only work
on the computer they are initially purchased on?
Hope my question makes sense, hard to put across what I’m asking.
Assets should work if you are given the files that are downloaded from the asset store. I have 2dtk and my coworkers are able to use it because i committed it to our asset server. For SmoothMoves I am not positive. Our in house animator could make the needed animations and commit the animations and they worked fine but I think in order for me or anyone else to modify we would have to get additional licences for SmoothMoves.
If you are using any editor extensions then the license you agreed to when you purchased the asset from the store says you need to buy a copy per seat, so you will need to buy extra licenses for the systems you have purchased one copy of so far. And if the team gets any larger then again more licenses are required.
