People who work for UT have custom user titles. Most everyone else is “Member” or “New Member”, but not all.
There’s no way to change the user title. Who have you seen who’s not a (new) member?
I see. It’s also moderators who can have a custom title.
While I was checking, I noticed that taumel is listed as a New Member. Might want to check that algorithm. 
Personally, I think that having “Member” on nearly everyone is clutter, and not having it documented that I could not be anything other than a Member gave me false hope. 
We had removed the “Member” “New Member” a while ago, but I guess they are back. I see no point in them either.
They’re all gone now.
