How do we setup Unity to operate successfully behind a proxy server.

Cannot download from asset store or update versions and have to work offline on projects.

Since this is one of the first questions that popup on google when looking for Unity and proxies, adding this quick code snippet to help out. (I understand this doesn’t apply to asset store and other non-editor things like the above question, but would apply to other proxies for in-game http calls)

If you want your game or your editor to use the proxy at runtime without always having to setup environment variables, you can use the following C# code before any http calls happen

        Environment.SetEnvironmentVariable("http_proxy", "my_proxy_adr:my_port");
        Environment.SetEnvironmentVariable("https_proxy", "my_proxy_adr:my_port");
