How Do You Capture Gameplay From An Android Tablet?

I need to capture gameplay (audio and video) from an android tablet for marketing purposes. The build is currently on a Nexus 7 tablet. Has anyone captured gameplay footage from a similar device? I’m new to android, and I’ve been trying to find suggestions on how to do this. I assume an app for this may not be able to handle doing a longer capture, so is the solution to mirror the tablet to a computer some how and use something like fraps? Or is it as simple (I doubt it) as getting a mini USB to HDMI cable so I can plug the device into my capture station?

Any insight would be helpful, even if it’s just a suggestion of a different forum to post the question.

Thanks!

Do you actually need it from the device itself? Typically you’d capture it from the editor, in which case you use standard computer screen/video capturing apps.

Don’t ask me why, but yes, it needs to come from the device itself. If I could capture from the editor I’d do it, but it’s not my decision to make. Any ideas? Would using a different tablet help?

MHL to HDMI won’t work on the Nexus 7, but on other devices that support it.
I would recommend Screencast Video recorder for the best footage, but that also doesn’t work on the Nexus 7 yet:

So I don’t have a solution, but at least I can tell you what doesn’t work.

Thanks so much for the input! I have some tablets that are on the MHL list. I’m a little unclear though, do I need a special interface that accepts MHL, or will any capture device using HDMI work? I guess now my questions may be more appropriate for another forum.

Thanks for the help!
