How do you configure your audio tracks format/load type in your game?

If you have five or six music tracks of about 50MB each in WAV format…

In your experience, how to you configure Format and Load Type?

  • Do you set the format to Native/Compressed?
  • Do you set the Load Type to Decompress on load? Compressed in memory? Stream from disc?

My target platforms are Win, Mac, Linux.

On PC platforms, compress everything. Stream music (and long background ambiences if you have them) and keep everything else compressed in memory.
