How do you go about building a level at all? (Might not be the right forum for this)

Hi there, I’m still relatively new to unity, even though I’ve been using it for years now.

I haven’t really made much progress in 3D because I don’t really know how to do any sort of modelling, which is especially problematic because I have no clue how to make levels.

I set out on trying to just build E1M1 from the first DOOM, thinking that it’d be nice to have ANY sort of level to mess about in, but it proved extremely challenging and I ran into a lot of brick walls (For the record, I’m using ProBuilder).
How do you make rooms and stuff like that with the collision making sense? Every time I’ve tried it’s just ended up being a mess because of bad habits and practices.

Where do I start?

Hi there, replying to my own post to say that I’ve decided to just use primitives
I’ve realised that I’m a bit of a doof – I thought that having a lot of random blocks everywhere would slow the game down and such, but I’m realising now that it’s basically the best way to do it
