Is your game built?
If so try it on Kongregate. While you may not get much it gets it some decent exposure.
Also putting it on Steam’s Greenlight for 100$ if you think it’s decent enough gets you good exposure too.
Hello,
Couple of things you may want to try/think about.
Spelling and grammar. I is capitalized. I’m not going to give money to someone who can’t spell something so basic. The amount of time you spend on your writing and posting is the same I’ll spend thinking about donating.
What have you released already? How do I know it will get completed? People like to donate to established people… I know… how do I get established? At least making and releasing a nice small game is a good place to start.
I’d also donate to someone who was very helpful to the community. Or who made some great utility or something.
Do you have a website? A blog? Screenshots? A game design document?
If you don’t look serious, people will not take you seriously.
It is a one time only fee, so you pay once and you can post any number of games i believe. Valve never wanted to have to charge for the service so they donate all the fees paid straight to charity.
Theres tonnes of things to do, made a facebook fan page (Redirecting... for example) to get people interested, also having a website is a big plus, getting traffic there will be hard but worth it.
Youtube account, twitter ect all of these will help you promote your game / company. Another good way to market is to go out on the streets with a test copy/demo of the game and get feedback from people. Get posters up and stickers. There’s tonnes you can do for marketing! You just have to be fresh and have good ideas
