An old 2020 post Can We Use Video As A Animated UI - Unity Engine - Unity Discussions suggests using a render texture as an image background but doing so I see no way to play the video or add controls. Could I get some clarification on how video in UI toolkit works.
Video doesn’t work in UI Toolkit out of the box.
So you need to use RenderTexture to display visual content of the video in the element (i.e. set VisualElement’s background to that RenderTexture).
To add video controls you also need to add them yourself (i.e. add buttons that play/pause the video).
