How do you sell assets in the asset store?

The unity website itself said to go here for support, so I’m going to post here expecting an answer, and the topic that will get resolved when I see that it works.

The website’s description of the upload process is exceptionally vague at best. I use to think unity was a good piece of software, but clearly my memory is fuzzy and I’m having serious doubts now. All I want to do is sell some audio assets on the store and so far the process is at least 5 times more convoluted than it is on a typical platform for selling assets. I have the unity software, I have a publisher’s account, now what am I suppose to do once I open unity? There isn’t even an upload button anywhere and nothing happens when I download the unity tools form this website either, literally nothing.

Hey!

I suggest you take a look at the submission guidelines: Unity Asset Store Submission Guidelines - Asset Store

If you have further questions after that, let me know!

EDIT: You already posted this question. I’m less inclined to help you now after seeing the previous thread.

Yes I’ve seen that, but it doesn’t pertain to the discussion. All of that is simply legal info and guidelines to make your file acceptable, not how to submit it in the first place.

If you’re not here to help then you’re just here to purposely waste time? Are you trolling? I don’t udnerstand. You do realize that if someone who use to do game design and owns a multimedia business is having trouble with the process, then there’s definitely thousands of other people who have already been, and will continue to be, discouraged from the entire store by this process, right? If you actually put effort into something and answer it, then it can be referenced in the future for other people.

No. It’s not simply legal info. It contains very practical stuff that helps you when selling assets. The basic process is like this:

  1. Go to your publisher login page
  2. Go to packages and create a new draft
  3. Download Unity Asset Store Tools from the Unity Asset Store
  4. Open Unity, and a menu should appear on the top bar in Unity, click onit
  5. Fill in everything and upload
  6. Go back to publisher login page and hit refresh
  7. Submit it

And make sure you did indeed read through the submission guidelines.

Good luck,

Alex

Open Unity, import your sounds, use the Asset Store Tools to upload them to your Draft product asset.

Done. Read the instructions and follow them.

Like I said, exceptionally vague, it doesn’t even explain how to create a new package or even what it actually is. There’s people who know unity who even say the process is a hassle.

Given your track record of trolling, awful attitude and crappy communication skills, who do you think would even waste their money buying your assets assuming you could ever figure out how to publish?

No one. That’s who.

You literally just came to this thread to call someone names and insult them, you’re clearly trolling and you’re reported.

If unity or anyone on this entire website had the basic common courtesy to explain how to use their arbitrary, niche, outdated submission process so that I, along with countless others, wouldn’t waste hours upon hours upon hours of time, then I would have the courtesy to not be flippant. Unity has already done me disservice by wasting my time, especially by directing me here instead of a competent support team, I expect their platform or community to provide the information necessary to correct it as would any reasonable person in the entirety of the world’s history of any and all business and design.

Not enough information. I can randomly toy around with different buttons that I think pertain to that string of words you put out, but there’s no garuntee it’s the right track.

I read your previous thread on this same topic. Which is now locked. And this thread will get locked as well.

Give it up. You can’t do something that everyone else can. Despite everyone offering you good helpful advice. We can’t do anything to help you. This is not a unity issue. It’s you.

Tens of thousands of other developers publish to the assset store with no problem. Enough said.

Best of luck to you. You will need a lot of it. Bye.

You’re trolling again and you’re reported again.

I’m going to write it down for you step by step.

  1. Open a Unity Project (if you’re already stuck here, you should look up some Unity tutorials first)
  2. Put the files you want to publish in a folder, and put that folder in the ‘Assets’ folder that was created when you created your Unity Project
  3. In Unity, on the top bar, click on Window>Asset Store and look for the package ‘Asset Store Tools’. Download and Import it
  4. Now open a web browser and go to your publisher login page. It will look like this
  5. Click on Packages>Create new Package and fill out all the fields, everywhere.
  6. Back on the top bar in Unity, a new menu will have appeared called ‘Asset Store Tools’, click on it and click on ‘package upload’, it will look like this
  7. Select the package you created back in your web browser
  8. Select the folder where your audio files are
  9. Select main assets
  10. Upload the package
  11. Go back to the page where you created the package in your web browser and hit ‘refresh’
  12. Select that you have the rights to upload the package, and sumbit it

I hope you respond to this with meaningful, specific questions.

I’ve been part of this community since 2006. Never once have I been reported. You report me twice in 10 minutes. I’m honored. Thank you.

@SoundStormLabs - Countless people have tried to help you. It seems you don’t want to take the time to understand the process or perhaps you are indeed just trolling. This thread will be closed now. I don’t want to see another one opened on this matter or I will have to take other actions at this point. Thank you for your cooporation.
