Not sure if this is the right place, but if me and a couple of my friends want to create a game together, do we need to have a team license?
If not, how does the team license here work?
I’m only curious as we noticed that the team license section under the downloads page didn’t help us too much.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Team license is a bit of a misnomer in my opinion. It most definitely is not required to use Unity in a team. It simply provides access to tools that can assist with the process. Namely Unity Cache Server and integration of Perforce/Plastic SCM.
Unity is the ultimate game development platform. Use Unity to build high-quality 3D and 2D games, deploy them across mobile, desktop, VR/AR, consoles or the Web, and connect with loyal and enthusiastic players and customers.

Don’t bother with it. It gives you access to Unity’s collaboration tools. Which by all accounts are worse then free third party solutions out there.
Thanks for the help! As I said before we were quite stumped by it. It’s good to have that cleared up.
This means we can finally start building the project.
