How does the new input system compare with the old one?

Is it good enough that its worth switching over? 90% of learning content is made for the old one so I’m reluctant to make the switch.

Are the benefits big enough to warrant the switch?

Buggy for me. I regret switching to the new Input System. So in my opinion you should not switch it.

I use it in VR project, btw.

The old one is very limited, the new one isn’t. There’s a lot of ways to approach input with the new system. It’s much more flexible and rebindable.

I haven’t run into any significant issues using it. It’s a little more difficult to catch on to since it is more advanced but in the long term it’s going to serve you better.

I’ve heard some that it’s actually less flexible and annoying to use. Actually, I’ve gotten mixed messages about the new system. Can you go a little bit more in-depth? More flexible how? How is the old system “limited”?

I’ve also heard the new system is bugged in regards to some things like mouse support. Is that true?
