how generate bitmap fonts from TrueType fonts?

I copy the font file into the Assets\font,
but unity did not automatic generate bitmap fonts。

I would like to ask how me do

For what it’s worth, we’ve encountered this problem with Arial Round Bold. Unity doesn’t create a material and reports:

The font Assets/BareSkin/Assets/Arial Rounded Bold.ttf could not be imported because the format is unsupported

It happens randomly, but more often than not when restoring from a zip backup.
