Spawned by hippocoder, who declared that those of us who have released more games are entitled to a greater level of opinion about anything and everything, I thought it was actually an interesting question to ask, “Who actually HAS released the most games?”
So this is a measure of our EPEEN’s. The more games you released (regardless of quality) the bigger your EPEEN is, and the more weight your opinion has on anything (even unrelated to video games).
Who has the biggest one?
Who has released the MOST games using Unity?
I’d be interested to know if anyone has released more than 5.
More than 20 would be interesting to view their progress throughout the (years?) from Game 1 to Game 20.
To see what people are like on their first game, and what they’re like on their latest.
This is also a great opportunity to show off multiple games! The earliest COMPARED to your latest.
I’d be very interested in any articles or posts which show examples of someone’s first game, and their last.
Not just indie developers, but also possibly professional developers. (What ever happened to those who made those brilliant SNES or SEGA games?)
Unity Developers who have released 4+ games, has there been a huge quality improvement of your 1st to your latest? Screenshot comparisons?
Disclaimer:I do not think it actually matters if anyone has released anything. This is a very light-hearted and joking thread, with the only serious question of “Who has released the most games using Unity, and how many did they release?” Unlike what others may think, you are not a lesser person if you have released 0, and your opinion is just as valid when arguing whether or not a Tomato is a Fruit or a Vegetable.
To start off the conversation, I’d like to introduce one of my former favorite game developers who has been around for a loooong time.
RICHARD GARRIOTT
Creator of the ULTIMA series, a huge hit and awesome games which I still played as of 2010.
Every new release of ULTIMA was exciting.
Then this brilliant person helped to produce many other games, primarily popular MMORPG titles.
According to Wikipedia,
Ultima Online 1997 Windows Producer
Ultima Online: The Second Age 1998 Windows Executive Designer
Lineage 1998 Windows Mac OS X Executive Producer
Lineage II 2003 Windows Executive Producer
City of Heroes 2004 Windows Executive Producer
City of Villains 2005 Windows Executive Management
Tabula Rasa 2007 Windows Executive Producer
Funny, because after he apparently left (Second Age, Ultima Online) that game changed and went downhill.
Lineage is a HUGE success, and City of Heroes/Villains was an amazing game.
However, Tabula Rasa (although liked) for legal reasons was ripped apart. Yet although it was liked, I wouldn’t say it was anything like a normal Garriott game.
I was originally going to talk about his rise and fall, but when I discovered he helped to produce and manage City of Heroes/Villains and Lineage 1 2, I changed my mind and decided that he is still a great game developer, despite Tabula Rasa failing to live up to my expectations compared to his former MMO’s and RPG’s.
That right there is silly and childish as is this whole thread. Closed. Please don’t open threads like these as it will only lead to trouble (in this case for you).
