Maybe you also thinking the same thing sometimes.
“I could do this game”.
Let’s say, idle heroes. It has lots of equivalents (actually imitations) and I want to make one more.
But I am just a little bit worried about copyrights.
Is there any copyright rule that says “You can not copy mentality of a game?”
play store search for idle heroes:
(at least all those clones are live and kicking, so i’d check how they do things in the game… if they are based on that game)
I am pretty sure They are. I played at least one of them that I can say “It is exact copy of idle heroes”
No.
You can copy:
- mechanics
- story (somebody imprison the princess so you need to jump through loops to free her but she is always in another castle)
- features
You cannot copy:
- names
- graphics design
- exact story (with names, places, specific graphics)
Just be careful, always double check that you do not copy other people’s design. Especially when it comes to names and places and concrete events or writing.
I also add a rule, which obviously isn’t mandatory, but good to keep in mind:
Only copy if you improve upon it.
thanks.
The only improvement I am planing is the prices.
I ll be honest, I believe I can give the same service and same fun for 5 dolllars instead of 500 dollars…
That’s sad.
that is true
