How much can Unity handle?

I am wondering how much Unity can handle. Say I want a battle system similar to the game N3 (Ninety Nine Nights) Would Unity be able to handle that? If it can then Unity is going to be my program of choice. =)

Unity has no limitations as to what sort of games you can make. It’s all up to you.

Awesome. So even with near to one hundred enemies at once and with a decent draw distance and FX going on and animations all happening at one time Unity STILL won’t lag or freeze up while in game?

if you have a machine that can handle it.
But thats the same with all engines.

if you throw 100 distinct enemies on screen with ai and animation and hope to get a fluid gameplay, then I can only hope that they are low poly enough for this hope.
You will have to test how far you can go

Alright. Unity can be put onto other consoles other than PC correct? But if not I’ll just test like crazy to see how far I can go on a PC. Thanks.

The Unity Editor is Windows / OSX only.

The Player is Windows / OSX / Web
If you have a mac and license Unity iPhone, then you can create iPHone games.

Additionally, if you are a licensed Nintendo Wii developer, you can license the wii technology ($15k per game for WiiWare, $30k per game for disk distribution)

These are the currently available platform for which you can build

I’ll just stick with PC. Even though my sponsors MIGHT be able to fund that the fact remains that the Wii is NOT going to work for my game. Lol. But thanks! PC it is!

We have also announced that XBOX360 support is forthcoming. Pricing and all the details are still TBD, but we’re coding away on it

Thats pushing your luck for sure. I worked on call of duty 3 for the 360 and ps3, and I don’t think we got more than 20 characters on screen at one time. Thats with 3 Lods, mipmapping, level loading etc.

N3 accomplished it. But their engine is privately owned. I’m looking for performance rather than that “I can see the hairs on his chin” graphical effect.
