175 days with unity and all the tutorials out there and not one single tutorial on how to import a character and actually make it walk, and run to replace that god awful construction worker model… so how much money do i need to give someone to atleast give me that knowledge step by step… I have watched some youtube tutorials and i have to tell you … they are absolutely horrible.
Some advice for people making tutorials… please for the love of god focus when you make them… I have watched some tutorials and they are all over the place and going uh…oh… and umm. and oh do this and that… and just going so fast and not explaining what they click or do… seriously if you are going to do that…stop making tutorials.
175 days with this software and still cant do something as simple as replacing that stupid model… let me know who can help me… I have paypal… and would be happy to transfer money into your account for a correct tutorial on this.
I’m not sure this is what you are looking for, but you could download the free UMA assets from the store, run the demos, and see if that helps any.
UMA is one way of doing it. You can also buy models from the asset store, or create your own models through Blender or Mixamo or whatever method you prefer.
If you haven’t done the tutorial on mecanim yet, that is specifically how you get a model to walk in the current version of Unity. There is also a legacy animation method which is still fairly popular. Many models on the asset store still use the legacy animation method, but generally you can convert the animations into mecanim’s format when you import them.
If the legacy-to-mecanim conversion is something you want to check out, there are free models in the asset store you can download and convert.
