how much VRAM should i have ? 29.6 mb can't be right.

Hi All,
the stat window says my PC -

phenom 2 x 4@3.2Ghz
8 Gig ram
Geforce gtx 550 ti 3gb version gpu

is only putting out 29.6mb of VRAM to my project ? how can this be right when Ipad users are getting atleast 64mbs ?
is this right and if not, how do i fix ?

I think, VRAM shows only the amount of ram your application needs. So if your game is running good, there is no need to worry about this.
