How soon PhysX 5.0 support will be added to Unity?

PhysX 5.0 will be released early next year:

I’d expect 1-2 years at least.

(EDIT Dec 2022) …no matter when you read this.

Seems like physx 5.0 sdk is still not released.
I’m curious – what physx version does the latest unity version (2021.2) use now?

last time I check it was physx 4.0

They will port it, one day.
But without new features.

At least PhysX 5 seems to implement correct rigidbody dynamics out of the box. Current rigidbody simulation is severely faked for rigidbodies with non-uniform inertia (almost everything except primitives).

I can’t find it in the release notes or roadmap anywhere, but koirat is right, it wouldn’t be much use without the new features, right now we don’t even have many features of PhysX 4.0.

Basic rigidbody simulation will be much better (actually realistic) even if they upgrade to PhysX 5.0 without any new feature.

I’ve been wondering also, but I can’t find anything about it being considered on the public roadmap.
