How to activate game object during runtime

I had created a game object, inside this game object I attached few object as child, and I deactivating one of them so that I won’t shown up during runtime. I want to reactivate it when button was clicked, basically I do this :

GameObject.Find ("object1").transform.GetChild (0).GetChild (0).transform.gameObject.active = true;

But the object didnt shown during runtime?

I didn’t know you could use GetChild(0). What I do is use a deeper find, something like:

GameObject.Find("object1/arm/forearm/wrist").active = true;
