How to adjust values in the inspector manually via typing in?

I am wondering if there is any way to adjust values in the inspector (e.g. gravity scale or sort depth) by typing them in manually into the text fields in the inspector. Right now I can only adjust them via a slider, i.e. click/hold and drag left or right on the value to decrease/increase it. Surely there must be a way to type values into the inspector. Do I need to change a setting somewhere?

You can simply click in the text field and manually type in the value there.

What if this does not work? My transform and terrain options are greyed out. i can move a slider to change stats but not type them for some reason
