How to asign a Slider to a script automatically?

Hello everyone,

I’m finding a way to attach a Slider to a script component say in the event function Start or Awake automatically like if you do:

public GameObject player;

void Start () {

    player = GameObject.FindGameObjectWithTag("Player");
    // or player = GameObject.Find("Player Name"); 

}

… but with an UI.Slider

I’m not sure what you’re looking for, you need to get a reference to a Slider component already existing?
If so, you could create a new tag for the object where you have your slider, like for example “SliderUI”.

Then you can get a reference:

 private Slider slider;

 void Start () {
     slider  = GameObject.FindGameObjectWithTag("SliderUI").getComponent<Slider>();
 }

Or you could find the object by its name

slider = GameObject.Find("object_name").GetComponent<Slider>();
