How to bring your App back to the charts?

Hello,

As you maybe know, last week I released my first iPhone game "Candy Fever".
For some days my app spent his time at the top 100 in the “Family” category in the US.
Till yesterday, it sadly drop to rank 109 :frowning: Now the game is not visible anymore when you access the AppStore throw the iPhone. I think my app will now completely die. What are possibilities to bring my app back into the top100?
First I thought releasing a game-update will bring my app back to the “new released” category. But after reading this topic I get totally demotivated :frowning:

In my opinion, I don’t see any chance to push my app back to the top 100. I planned to release another update with even more features (local high-score, more stuff to interact with, new achievements) , but for what? :frowning: The update is nearly finished but no person will recognize it, because the game is dead. That is sad.

Instead of releasing an update for this version, should I release a complete new version&game? I don’t like that idea because I don’t want to drop my game that fast. Any ideas?

If you were charging for it, I’d say drop the price temporarily. There are significant numbers of people who track app prices. Because of that, earlier this year my game got back into the top 20 games…in Japan, but still that was a nice bump, although it didn’t last. But for a free app, not really sure.

Try releasing the update, and hope you get featured since your app is Halloween themed? I wouldn’t give up though. One of my apps spent a week off the charts in all countries, then this past week for some odd reason(It wasn’t featured or anything) it skyrocketed all the way up to be the number 7 app in the Indian app store. No idea why, and India is the only place my app is actually selling, but it does happen I guess.
