How to create a tag like system.

How do I create a tag like system? I want to give my items IDs so that that can link them to their properties (description, other features, etc.).

Any help is appreciated.

PS: I’m not asking anybody to write me a script. I’m only asking where to start.

Not quite sure what you mean but unity already has a tag system. In the top in the inspector right under the name you can change and configure tags.
