How to create abstract shape for particles clouds


I create clouds which I can fly through using the particles system. The problem I have is that the shape of the clouds is limited by the shapes of the particles-system unity offers (Box, Sphere, Cone etc).
How can I make the particle system more abstract in shape ?

Look up perlin noise and use textures on your particles. That will take you a long way towards making realistic clouds. If you also do a google search for “volumetric clouds” you should be able to find a variety of ways to make interesting and realistic clouds.
