Join Dan Miller and Phil Chacko as they share the Unity workflows that let you create AR experiences for any environment across devices. You’ll also hear tips and tricks from the developers of Krikey, an AR gaming app, on how they’re using AR Foundation and MARS in their newest game, Sia’s Adventure.
Together with this Unite Now session we are also hosting a Q&A here in this thread to answer as many of your questions as possible.
A team of product experts from across Unity will be available starting after the session. Our Community team will continue to field questions to foster an ongoing discussion with the community. Please feel free to ask your questions in this thread.

Hi, What about Testing of AR Foundation in Editor (Mac/PC): Face Tracking, Image Tracking? When this feature announced in December on the forum will be available?
AR Foundation testing in the editor will be enabled when the AR Remote / Mobile Remote is updated and released. It’s will allow you to hit play mode in the editor and use a connected mobile device to test AR features without compiling your app to the mobile device.
It’s being worked on but we don’t have any dates or announcements to share around that currently.
3D Object tracking / detection is available in AR Foundation with ARKit on iOS there is an example scene available in the AR Foundation samples and you can learn more about the feature on Apple’s documentation
This is the most needed feature! XR Interaction, MARS and other stuff is super secondary! Hours and hours are wasted just by building each time! I am on the verge of moving to Xamarin or something because of this!
MARS looks impressive, but agree with unnanego. If it is at all possible to decouple the remote from MARS and release it for general ARFoundation use, please give it serious consideration. The current build process and lack of on-device tools has completely crippled our team. We’ve wasted months of developer hours due to this.
Hey there @Chadobado ! We hear you -and the many others asking. But as @philchacko said in the video, the companion app is not a remote. However, we do have a very talented team working on this. It is part of our roadmap and updates will be coming shortly. We appreciate the feedback. Please stay tuned!
Any news about the remote for UnityEditor ARKit?
There was a remote 2-3 year ago with the unity-arkit-plugin bitbucket repo…
But seems that is depreciated now. Tried a unlucky compilation from Xcode output from Unity 2020.1.0b12 but a bunch of errors showed up.
Browsing google and if I understand well, there is no Editor remote yet with that in-build ARFoundation?
It’s like that other thread talking about UnityRemote5 being depreciated as well…
Yeah saw that while doing research. Didn’t want to mention about it and wanted Unity’s team feedback.
It’s a shame that a single guy can support what a team is working on over there…
I do not have 40$ for every single feature unity cannot handle or switch to depreciated.
Sad.
Better believe it saw that while doing an https://korean-drama-list.com/ investigation. Didn’t have any desire to specify it and needed Unity’s group input.
It’s a disgrace that a solitary person can uphold what a group is taking a shot at over yonder…
I don’t have 40$ for each and every element solidarity can’t deal with or change to devalue.
