How to create really solid GOs

Hey guys,

I’d like to explain my situation in short, unless I don’t really now how to explain you guys in less words what I’d like to do. Probably that’s also the reason for why I couldn’t find anything about that with our big friend Mr. Google.

Well, we all know, that GOs (including Mesh-Filter and -Renderer) are not really solid objects like we have them in reality. From outside they look like e.g. a stone or whatever they should look like… but from the inside they’re empty. When using the clipping plane of the camera component and the GOs we’re lookin’ at get cut by this plane we can visualize that effect. Hope you got the idea of that.

That’s exaclty what I want to prevent. When clipping GOs I’d like them to at least look like being full-bodied.

One last addition: There’s no need for a complicated texture on that clipped surface. I’d say it’s enough to apply the material-color: e.g. green.

Greetings
Phil

Custom shaders do this. For instance: Unity Asset Store - The Best Assets for Game Making

GREAT! Thanks a lot. Looks exaclty what I was looking for. I’ll give it a try the next days.
