How to create sprites

What ways and programs I can use to create sprites?

A lot of people use Photoshop or GIMP. For pixel art, I’ve heard RagePixel is pretty good. Sprites are imported to Unity from image files, so any application that you can draw/save images in will work.

For pixel art, I highly recommend Aseprite. Newer versions are like 10 dollars but you can find older version for free on their website.
