how to customize texture importer

Hi all.

It appears there are textureimporter class in the api, but with no example at all it’s quite voodoo for me to
understand how it could be integrated in unity editor.

Is there somewhere some examples of a custom texture importer ?

what i’d like to do is add an entry in the texture type after for example ‘single channel’ called…
‘my messy format’ and call my own importer method when clicking on ‘apply’.

The idea seems quite simple and i bet it was made simple in unity but i go no idea of where to start :confused:

any advice ( or piece of example code :stuck_out_tongue: ) would really be appreciated !
