How to delete a specific part of a text word?

Since this can be a little hard to explain by words, here’s two links of what I’m trying to achieve.

And I wanted it to be like this: Screenshot by Lightshot

I’ve done some research on masking but I’m not sure how to achieve a similar result.

this can be done by altering the font you use for the text. you need to change it so there is no line there. you edit the font with a font editor
