How to enable screen space global illumination?

Hi everyone, so I can seem to figure this out. I tried to followed the Unity docs.

I created a new scene, added the Screen Space Global Illumination to the ‘Sky and Fog Volume’. I get the error “The current HDRP asset does not support screen space global illumination”.

Under ‘Project Settings > Graphics’ I duplicated the HighQuailityHDRP and chose my new asset, enabling SSGI under the ‘Lighting’ rollout.

Under ‘HDRP Default Settings’ in the Project Settings window I’m unable to check SSGI, it’s grayed out.

I tried creating a new “Default Volume Profile Asset”, with SSGI enable but that didnt work either.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Yes, they make it very complex and annoying to enable that feature.
Go to > project settings > Graphics > HDRP Settings - Then scroll to the frame settings, on those options, click on lighting to open those settings and look for “Screen Space Global Illumination” then check to enable it.
Then, Go to > project settings > Quality > HDRP - then select the HDRP Asset you are using, then, below, in lighting check “Screen Space Global Ilumination” then, you will be able to use it on the post procesing volume.
Now, i do not know why user have to make those pointless steps to enable it. It is annoying and pointless -.-"
i hope it works. Bye.
