I would like to know where in the 3d scene the center of the the positional tracking space is on the oculus rift.
I’m trying to put a object on the floor so I can see how far I’ve moved, similar to the guardian system, but I want to see this object at all times and not just when I’ve moved too close to the edge in the real world.
How can I find the tracking center position or the guardian center position so I can do this?
I haven’t found a perfect solution but this seems to work pretty decently for Oculus. I had to include an offset to adjust for floor level in my case, but more of a hack than anything.
Actually, this might not be what you’re asking. This is for tracking the position of the tracker. I don’t know, maybe it could help you somehow.
private Vector3 posOffset = new Vector3(0.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f); // offset to tweak cam position
Vector3 pos = OVRManager.tracker.GetPose(0).position - InputTracking.GetLocalPosition(VRNode.CenterEye) + posOffset;
pos = OVRManager.tracker.GetPose(0).position + posOffset;
transform.localPosition = pos;
Thanks for the reply.
I was just looking at this again and realized I was over thinking it. For my problem I just need to look at the player position and see how far the camera has moved from that. I just added a small circle to the base of the “character” and it seems to work fine.
Thanks again
