How to fix this Angry Bots character

i’ve been able to import the character and camera from Angry Bots into my new project, apart from some assets that somehow went missing which is fixed up i almost got it to work, however i have 2 strange problems with it, here’s a download to a .zip file that i’ve put the project in

the 2 problems are

  1. i’m getting this null reference thing in player, not sure what it’s about because the error is in the script and i have not changed any scripts, i might be missing something but i don’t know what, any ideas?

  2. the player’s waist spins like mad, like a spinning top and when you move there is no running animation, depending on the mouse position the legs spins at different speeds, i’m guessing it might be related to the above problem

if anyone can either fix and upload the project in their answer or even tell me what’s going on and how to fix it that would be great

PS: the reason why i’m going though all this work is that the character in Angry Bots is perfect for the game i have in mind and it would actually be quicker to copy the character over then re-create it

My opinion without going through your project:

1- you can easily understand what’s the null reference about if you double click on the log, since it’ll direct you to the actual row of code with the error.

2- the animation problem is most certainly an issue of layers and animation mixing/ addition. whatever the source, you must import the animation setting lines too, the ones that assign layers and wrapmodes and blending type to each animation.
